Shot on a part time schedule in various parts of scenic North Dublin, Hell’s Drifter was written and directed by Peter Bergin. He chose to shoot it digitally, due, not only to budgetary constraints, but also to its mobility, which served the production well on its isolated shooting location. The film commenced principal photography in December 2006 on a virtually non-existent budget and over the course of an entire year, cast and crew pulled off a series of ambitious action scenes. Due to alternating weather conditions, the production took much longer than anticipated, turning into a huge commitment for everyone involved. It finally wrapped at the end of January 2008.
